Chapter 1: Unboxing the Mower

Chapter 2: Haven Mower Vocabulary

Watch the video to learn terms and concepts associated with the Haven Robotic Mower.

(0:22) A working area is the area that your mower has mapped and can operate autonomously within. The working area is set up by pushing your mower around your property so that the mower creates a 3D map of your property.

(0:32) Charging station and robotic mower.

(0:55) An example of a back yard.

(1:02) Mowing zones are areas where you want the mower to mow. They are set up after mapping your working area. They must be set up within an existing working area.

(1:14) Mowing zone 1.

(1:23) An exclusion zone is an area within a mowing zone where the mower shouldn’t travel. Exclude areas such as yard furniture, landscaping, and low-lying roots or rocks.

(1:34) Mowing zone 2.

Note:

Large objects and paths are not included in the mowing zone.

(1:44) A mower travelling from mowing zone 1 to mowing zone 2 using a transit path.

(2:03) Set up transit paths when the mower is travelling over non-grass surfaces.

(2:28) An example of a front yard.

(2:38) 4 mowing zones.

(3:21) Mower using transit paths to travel between mowing zones.

Chapter 3: Working Area Mapping

The working area is the 3D map of your property that the mower uses when mowing. Create a working area map of your entire property before creating specific mowing zones for the mower.

Chapter 4: Mapping the Working Area Process Overview

Watch the video to learn how to create a working area for your mower.

  1. Push the mower around the border of your entire property so it can gather information about your property.

  2. Perform zig-zag patterns to fill in the middle of your property.

The mower uses the data it gathered to create a 3D map of your lawn for mowing.

Chapter 5: Training for Narrow Passages

If your lawn contains narrow passages, such as gates, gaps between hedges, or walkways, use the figure-8 technique to map these when creating your working area. Watch the video to learn how to correctly train your mower for narrow passages.

Chapter 6: Map Build Processing

The mower needs time to process the information it gathered about your property.

Chapter 7: Localization

The mower uses the 3D map to understand where it is with respect to its environment.

Chapter 8: Creating the First Mowing Zone

Mowing zones are parts of your lawn where you want the mower to mow or maintain your grass. Watch the video to learn how to correctly set up mowing zones.

Chapter 9: Creating Additional Mowing Zones

Create additional mowing zones as required.

Chapter 10: Creating Exclusion Zones

Exclusion zones are areas where the mower shouldn't travel. Watch the video to learn how to correctly set up exclusion zones.

Chapter 11: Creating Transit Paths

The mower uses transit paths to travel from one mowing zone to another. Watch the video to learn how to correctly set up a transit path.

Chapter 12: Smartzone Technology

During mowing, the robotic mower intelligently mows one area of your lawn at a time before moving to a different area. This leads to an even and efficient cut of your lawn.
